I've never had a gas gauge that worked for more than five seconds I've tried bout three differrent times to put one in but they alway smoke out. I've bought new vibator and a new float for the tank. I believe the tank is grounded,I think I'm pulling to much amp for somewhere but can't seem to trace it down. I bought the car with an after market fuse box and its all connected like a maze and jumpers. I'm boogled? If you can send me any ideas if will be much appreciated Thank you

I'll take some pics next time I pull my hood off so you can see the basic setup. My last bugs fuel gauge didn't work, and nobody could explain to me how to set it up. If you have it set up properly, try running an in-line fuse (they're only a few $) on your power wire that runs to your fuel gauge. Also, shorts can be caused by crimped wires, so trace back your power wire and make sure it's not being smashed anywhere.
