About me
I am part of a pit crew for SCORE/Baja races. We raced a VW powered class 10 car and were class champions in 2006. We have since moved up to class 1, but with this economy, we have not been racing for the last year. I have owned many VW's over the years and am currently driving a 1973 Thing that will soon go through serious amounts of change. I am transplanting a Mendeola transaxle with a 2.0 supercharged Ecotec. It will eventually be a long travel street legal buggy. I also have a split window bus in my tree as a tree house for my son and a VW trike that needs finishing for my wife.

Matt : 71-74 standard bugs are great years, less rust on or in the cars than older cars and can be converted to baja bugs with the irs rear end and a type 181 (thing)front end on a budget if they want a baja down the road, just a thought.
TeshSeb : Eddie, no smog until 75, depending on your budget, every car worth something but thos models are not the most desirables. Newbus, what engine do you have, on a stock 1600 keep your 34, I have a 71 too and it is running great just like that, but with the dual vacuum distributor
