I have been a vw enthusiast as far as i can remember. I only owned two vw's one a 69 bug and my current daily driver a 71 supper bettle. I love working on them. although I don't get as much time on them as I wish. I've never belonged to any club but i love to go to the shows and find parts here and there.

Matt : 71-74 standard bugs are great years, less rust on or in the cars than older cars and can be converted to baja bugs with the irs rear end and a type 181 (thing)front end on a budget if they want a baja down the road, just a thought.
TeshSeb : Eddie, no smog until 75, depending on your budget, every car worth something but thos models are not the most desirables. Newbus, what engine do you have, on a stock 1600 keep your 34, I have a 71 too and it is running great just like that, but with the dual vacuum distributor
