To answer your question as to how Tiki does going up the mountain in Big Bear? She does it like going up any other mountain, in 2nd & 3rd gear! Slow and go, but enjoying the ride.

Matt : 71-74 standard bugs are great years, less rust on or in the cars than older cars and can be converted to baja bugs with the irs rear end and a type 181 (thing)front end on a budget if they want a baja down the road, just a thought.
TeshSeb : Eddie, no smog until 75, depending on your budget, every car worth something but thos models are not the most desirables. Newbus, what engine do you have, on a stock 1600 keep your 34, I have a 71 too and it is running great just like that, but with the dual vacuum distributor
